This World is Not My Home.

In my last, it was supposed to say that "I watched death today" but somehow never got that word in there and thus, it probably didn't make much sense.

Anyway, David Johnson did die...about 12 hours after I visited with his family and then spoke to him & blessed him. When I went into his room on last Monday, his eyes were rolled back into his head, no movement other than the slow rising of his chest as he labored to breath. Before I left, I spoke these words to him (assuming he could hear me and I believe he could): David, your has been well taken care of by friends and extended family. You have done a great job leading them as the head of your household. I want to assure you that as a church we will be here and do our best to be involved with your family.

I also told him about the new body that he would be receiving that would be pain and cancer free. And acknowledged that I will see him around the throne, praising God. In some ways, I have been envious of David's . Not in a morbid way because I do want to continue to live out this life to the fullest, but in a "faith" sort of way. As the old hymn declares, this world is not my home.

On another note, had a great discussion in our home team last night about Faith, Hope & Love and that faith is the "undergerding" of it all. It literally stands under and holds up Hope...and it is that hope that gives us the love to declare to others. AMEN.

Been Awhile

BONUS TIME (this is the game where one guesses the quote/song lyric and who said/sang it...all for one point and name on the board)

"Heywood leads the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair."

I know it's been awhile...if anyone reads this...welcome back.

I had a great time going skiing with great friends a few weeks back.(Thanks to Mom & Dad for watching the kids)

I watched today. David Johnson, whom I blogged about earlier, will pass from this life most likely this week. He has gone into a coma. Cancer is so devestating.

It's spring break now (for the next 2 weeks).

Still loving God, life, wife and fam, as well as the Southlake Blvd. Church.
